Respect for our Flag 2011

Bre & Brook noticed their school flag was tattered and needed to be replaced.

They talked to Grandpa Mel and he was moved by their respect of the flag.

Our family and Grandpa Mel split the cost of the flag and Riverton Post 140 came to Rosamond Elementary to perform the flag raising ceremony. The school children learned a lot that day about respect for the flag and for those serving our country.

The ceremony included the 21 gun salute

We then participated in a flag retirement ceremony at the Riverton rodeo grounds.

There were hundreds of flags and many volunteers.

Austin Steffensen & Parker Kemp assisted the Veterans with the flag ceremony.
